Roku Streaming Stick £49
What does it do?
It’s an HDMI stick very similar to Chromecast, which give viewers access to more than 450 channels, sourcing content from Netflix, BBC iplayer, Demand 4, Now tv, Sky Sports and Sky Store. As is the case with all video-streaming hardware, you’ll need a subscription to access certain channels.
Roku Streaming Stick comes with a remote control with a built-in headphones jack, so you can watch TV at night without disturbing anyone. It can also play games such as Angry Birds Space and the remote cleverly doubles as game-pad.
Is it a Chromecast Killer?
It’s very good, although not necessarily better than the Chromecast. There’s a free app for iOS and Android, which you can use to control the device, and also to beam media (photos, videos and music) from your phone or tablet to your TV. However, only certain Android devices can do this. more from www.roku.com/uk
